Panoply's January featured artist, Jaclyn Mai, shares her inspiring beauty industry story with us, and how her love of our brand began:
"I have been in the beauty industry for almost a year. The seeds of my beauty career were planted when I booked my first facial 4 years ago to address acne scarring and hyperpigmentation. Naive 22-year-old me thought a single facial would do the trick when all I needed was a series of chemical peels and a solid skincare regimen (bye, Clean & Clear!). The confidence that I felt from having clearer skin was unparalleled. I knew I wanted to help others feel good in their own skin. This past year during the pandemic, I booked my first lash extension training course and I haven’t looked back since! I am quitting my full-time job this month to focus on my business and to continue my education. Wish me luck!
"I have absolutely loved my experience with Panoply - both with their products and training! I found their page shortly after my lash lift certification course. Although I was certified elsewhere, I always found myself scouring their Instagram and Facebook support group for helpful tips and advice. Naturally, I enrolled in the Elleebana lash lift and brow lamination conversion courses as one of Paige’s students. I have always felt supported by Paige throughout my courses. She is an absolute gem!
"As for Panoply’s products, I love everything they carry. I am obsessed with all things Elleebana. My favorite products are the Elleebana Isolator Tool and the Panoply Brow Gel. An added plus of shopping with Panoply is that they ship super quick, almost always quicker than I anticipate."

Have you heard the buzz about our latest lash lifting tool?!
Here's just a few features our Panoply Beauty team loves about the new Elleebana Tree Tool:
- It's reusable! This lifting tool is washable, easy to disinfect, and can even be sterilized so you can get many, many uses out of a single tool.
- The globally recognized Elleebana tree isn't just for looks! The handle feature helps provide a better grip while lifting clients' lashes to sky high heights.
- A newly designed precision comb gives the best separation possible on the rod or shield, with more durability than ever before.
- And the best part...lash measurement markers! The four markers on the "Y" are to help easily measure clients' lashes and seamlessly choose the perfect rod or shield size.
Next on our Brow Henna series from educator Anastasia Hoff:
Elleebana Brow Henna Application
Here's a step-by-step rundown of her method:
Pro Tip: Anastasia prefers her henna mixture slightly runny- however you prefer your mixture, be sure to move all your henna to one corner of the mixing cup to prevent over-drying.
2. Begin applying henna to brows with Elleebana Angle Eyebrow Brush or your favorite brush in a direction to mimic brow hair growth. Starting your application at the tail of the brow and working your way into the body and head of the brow without picking up more henna will give you more of a natural variation in color.
Pro Tip: In areas where brow growth is heavier, lighten your henna application to keep those areas from appearing too bold.
3. Be sure to coat the henna down to the skin during application. The Mapping Pencil and Mapping Paste will provide a slight barrier to prevent staining skin in unwanted areas, but do not rely on this completely. Clean up areas where henna was not intended to be applied as quickly as possible with water (we love this brush for cleanup or Doe Foot/Disposable Lip Gloss Applicators).
Pro Tip: The longer the henna is wet on the skin, the deeper the skin stain will be in most cases.
4. As you work on each brow and each brow area, note that as henna begins to dry it will become a clay-like consistency. Henna mixture that is more dry will require a thicker application to produce the same skin stain as a more runny henna mixture can produce.
Anastasia recommends applying henna to brows in one of two ways:
- Applying to one entire brow, then moving to the other brow to apply in its entirety.
- Apply to both brows as you work through each section:
left tail - right tail
left body - right body
left head - right head
5. Add a second coat of henna in areas needed (this is typically the brow tail and the bottom lines of brows).
Pro Tip: Pay close attention to henna application on your non-dominant side, as this side can tend to become more sloppy/messy.
Additional color notes:
- The NEW Elleebana Henna formulas have much more of a neutral undertone, allowing the colors to be richer and easier to use!
- Always start with a single color pigment before adding Black to any mixture. The new formulation does not require Black henna to be added often.

We love our Elleebana Alabama trainer, Donna Yonta! As a lash lift, lash & brow lamination, and henna educator, Donna inspires us to learn as much as we can!
We interviewed Donna about her industry experience as well as her experience with the Panoply Beauty team and Elleebana. Here's what she said:
"The beauty industry has always been a deep interest of mine, and this interest turned into passion about 12 years ago as I transitioned out of the corporate world and earned my Aesthetician license while living in Florida. My passion for beauty, skin care, and beauty have propelled me to become an educator to share my passion training other skin care professionals in the industry’s best practices. I am licensed as an Aesthetic Educator in Tennessee and Alabama. I have taught Aesthetics at various schools in Tennessee and implemented a new Aesthetic program in one of those schools.
"Given the expansion and competition within the beauty industry, I realized that my students needed a broader learning experience that they would be able to build a competitive resume to compete within the job market. I began my search for marketable skills and products to provide my students additional tools and skills they could add to their services and choice of practice specialty. This is when I discovered Elleebana. I was impressed with their history, vision, and commitment to providing professional quality products. It was Elleebana’s focus on excellent service that also caught my attention and resonated with me. This is when I realized that I wanted to be a part of the Elleebana brand and provide this opportunity to my students.
"Soon, I entered the Elleebana certification program and became a trainer in 2017. Since then, I have trained numerous other beauty professionals. What I love about being a trainer is sharing my passion for the profession, inspiring student growth and creativity, to have their own vision of success, and to achieve their professional goals.
"In 2018 I attended the Elleevation Symposium and met Otto and Zoe. My first impression was that Otto and Zoe really care about their trainers as much as they care about their products. At this symposium I also met Kelly Rhode, who was “the icing on the cake” when it comes to caring people. We’re not only professional colleagues but friends, she has always been willing to give her advice and professional tips. I have learned a lot from her. I could not have been happier when she became my master trainer. Kelly, who is the owner of Panoply Beauty, is fantastic, she is well informed and is diligent about keeping us informed and up to date on products and procedure protocols.
"In 2019 I relocated to Alabama, and opened a service-education center in Madison, Alabama. Currently, I am enjoying the ability to fully focus on post graduate education in my local and surrounding area."
With Elleebana's new Elleeplex Profusion formula, we can be more efficient with time than ever!

Our featured Panoply Beauty artist for July is Cody-John Marks, owner of Drop Dead Gorgeous in the Twin Cities, Minnesota area. Learn about Cody-John's industry experience and what he loves about the brand:
"I have been in the industry 2 years now and love every second of it! It all began when I went to the Aveda Institute in Minneapolis and from there I went into the world of waxing but quickly learned that it wasn't all I wanted to do so I started my own small business where I can offer facials, lash lifts and brow services! My favorite services are all of them because I only offer services I enjoy doing.
My experience with Panoply has been excellent. I've taken 3 training courses now and have felt so supported by Kelly & Anastasia in my pursuits of higher education through them. Kelly also keeps me fully stocked on all my products and is one of the most prompt distributors I have the pleasure of working with!
My favorite thing about what I do and why I started is being able to make a difference in people's lives. I've always enjoyed being a caretaker but this brings it to a whole new level. That look on someone's face when you've exceeded their expectations - whether it's skin, lashes, or brows. That light in their eyes after the service is what makes my career the most rewarding one.
5 years from now I hope to have my own built-out space somewhere completely independent and that belongs to me! I plan to continue my education by becoming an Advanced Practice Esthetician so I can offer even more services and so on! I never want to stop learning!
My advice for new artists is: don't compare yourself to others! We all learn on our own timeline and at our own pace. We all have something different to offer and that is our superpower. Be so uniquely you and trust the process."
