Pre-Cleansing for Brow Henna
Over the next few weeks we’ll be breaking down some of the basic steps of brow henna application thanks to Elleebana certified trainer, Anastasia Hoff!
Let’s begin this series with the first step: Pre-Cleansing.
- Begin with the Elleebana Makeup Remover- This versatile lash and brow product is perfect to initially remove makeup and excess oil! Anastasia likes to use a disposable mascara wand for this cleansing step, which allows a light exfoliation to remove any dry, flakey skin prior to henna application. Be sure to avoid rough movements or scrubbing the skin during this step, as that can cause irritation and scratches, which will compromise your henna result. Pro Tip: Elleebana Makeup Remover is a fantastic retail product as well! Add extra income to your services by stocking your shelf with this fan fave!
- Follow with an application of the Brow Henna Shampoo to remove any remaining makeup or natural oils from the brow hairs and skin. This step is necessary to ensure the henna is absorbed by the cuticles of the hair. Elleebana’s gentle brow shampoo formula won’t irritate the skin, is fragrance free, and dye free! Try using a damp Doe Foot/Disposable Lipgloss Applicators for a gentle, lint-free application and removal during this step.
- Gently remove shampoo from the brow area with a wet wipe. Be sure to remove shampoo in its entirety, looking for any “sparkling” coming from remaining shampoo on the skin.
- Repeat step 2 & 3 if needed (due to heavy makeup, oils, or face creams). If the Brow Henna Shampoo does not suds up/foam during step 2, this is a good indicator that an additional cleanse is needed.
