Which system should I use?
Written by: Paige Thompson
Have you tried the new Elleeplex ProFusion system from Elleebana?! It’s a FANTASTIC range designed to beautifully laminate both lashes and brows, and we’re loving it!
But don’t worry- the original One Shot system isn’t going anywhere!
Many artists are asking, “Which system gives better results: One Shot or Elleeplex ProFusion?”
Spoiler alert: It’s not an either/or choice. Each system has been brilliantly designed in its own uniqueness. Let’s dive into the facts:
Elleebana created the Elleeplex ProFusion to fill the demand for a brow lamination product. As we do not recommend using the One Shot system for brow lamination, we adore how versatile the ProFusion system can be for both lashes and brows!
Active Ingredients
Elleebana’s One Shot system features an active ingredient in the lift lotion (step 1) called thioglycolic acid. This ingredient creates a reduction in disulfide bonds, which allows us to reshape the hair into its new form.
The new Elleeplex Profusion contains an active ingredient called cysteamine hydrochloride (CHC) in the lamination lotion (step 1) to gently reset the hair shape without damaging the structural integrity of more fragile hairs. This lotion also works at a lower pH level, which enables it to be safer on the skin (applicable in brow lamination services).
Processing Times
Due to the CHC working at a slower rate, processing times with Elleeplex Profusion will be a few minutes longer compared to the recommended One Shot processing times.
For more information on lash processing times, rod/shield selection, and lotion placement, read our previous blog or watch this video.
Product Storage
We recommend storing both the One Shot sachets and Elleeplex Profusion sachets in the refrigerator between 38*-73*F (never at or below freezing). However, the Elleeplex Profusion sachets must be returned to room temperature before lotions are applied. The One Shot sachets do not have to be returned to room temperature and can be used directly out of the refrigerator.
Additional Facts
The Elleeplex Profusion system is considered more “user-friendly” or forgiving, and is great for beginner lash lift artists! The reason for this is its low pH and gentle processing system that makes it extremely difficult to over-process a client’s lashes.
Elleeplex Profusion is a completely vegan system.
The One Shot system is never tested on animals, however, it is not labeled as vegan due to the lanolin found in the lotion for its moisturizing properties. Lanolin is derived from sheep’s wool when they are shorn (get a hair cut), which is a completely painless process for the animal.
Lashes lifted with the One Shot system will remain curled/lifted for the entire life cycle of the individual hairs treated (up to 12 weeks). Lashes laminated (lifted) with the Elleeplex Profusion system will begin to relax to their natural state 6 weeks after the initial treatment. The same is true for laminated brow hairs when using the Profusion system.
Due to Profusion’s gentle chemical process, you may find it a better option for clients with more thin or fragile lashes to avoid any damage or over-processing.
Many experienced artists continue to find the One Shot system gives longer lash lift results with shorter appointment times.
We can’t wait to hear your feedback on both systems! Have additional questions? Feel free to contact the Panoply team at any time!
